The United Nations Young Leaders Training Program 2024 is a great opportunity for youths all over the world to gain firsthand experience of the United Nations (UN). This experience will provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to fully unfold their potential as global leaders. Young people and youths in general constitute the largest portion of the global population, and it is estimated that about 1.9 billion young people will turn 15 years old by 2030. Young people are increasingly contributing to innovative solutions, driving social progress and inspiring political initiatives. They are agents of change, mobilising to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve the lives of people and the health of the planet. United Nations Young Leaders Training Program (UNITAR) 2024 is therefore delighted to offer online training programs in Geneva, Switzerland specifically designed for the global youth.

United Nations Young Leaders Training Program 2024 Structure

The United Nations Young Leaders Training Program 2024 is an online training program. This program consists of a 4-week e-Learning course implemented on UNITAR’s e-learning platform. The 4-week e-learning course has 4 different modules and can be studied at your own pace. It requires 4-6 hours of studying per week.

  • Module 1: The United Nations
  • Module 2: Conference Diplomacy
  • Module 3: Sustainable Development Goals SDGs)
  • Module 4: Cosmopolitan Communication

The course outline consists of weekly reading materials, multimedia files, and also discussion boards for exchanging ideas with other participants and UNITAR instructors. More to that, the United Nations Young Leaders Training Program 2024 will go alongside several 1.5 hour live-webinars. These webinars will be delivered through the Zoom platform by the UN experts and consists of the following topics:

  • Webinar B: The SDGs
  • Webinar C: Model United Nations (MUN) Training
  • Webinar D: UN Career Development

In addition to the above webinars, there will also be one 3.5-hour e-workshop per week. These will focus on Leadership as well as on getting to know Geneva’s multilateral environment through virtual guided tours. The virtual guided tours are through the UN Palais des Nations as well as the Diplomatic District of Geneva. Eligibilities

  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Aspiring Young leaders between the ages of 18 and 35 from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
  • Strong academic records and also proven leadership experience
  • Demonstrates commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also a passion for global issues.

Participants

  • This training program is open to all actors related to international affairs who wish to take on leadership roles in their respective environments. And also, to build up knowledge and skills related to the UN and International Geneva.
  • University students, High school students and other aspiring young leaders of similar background are eligible to participate.
  • Junior professionals from public and private sectors and also senior officials who are young at heart are equally welcome to apply.

Note: In order to ensure the highest quality standards, the registration will be closed after 30 participants. Slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  2. Click on “check out” button
  3. Create your own profile on the UNITAR event page and then fill out the required sections.
  4. Review the correctness of all information and choose payment method: (i) Credit card or (ii) Bank transfer.
  5. If you choose credit card, your payment is definite and is completed immediately on the spot.
  6. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, your payment is not definite yet and also, it could be delayed to a later point in time.
  7. Either of both choices, click on complete payment. UNITAR will follow up with you via email thereafter.
