Japan TiTech MEXT University Scholarship 2024.

Tokyo Institute of Technology (TiTech) is the largest national institution for higher education dedicated to science and technology, located in Greater Tokyo Area, Japan. It is one of the first Five designated national universities for research and has been selected as a top type university of Top Global University Project by the Japanese government. Applications are open for the MEXT University Recommended Scholarship at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. International students should submit their applications from mid September to early December.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be nationals of countries which have diplomatic ties with Japan
  • Must be aged 34 or below
  • IELTS Test. You are exempted if your previous Degree was completed entirely in English
  • Must obtain a Japanese study visa

  • Application period: September 11, 2023 – December 6, 2023
  • Deadline for Consent Mail/Letter Submission: November 29, 2023
  • Application Deadline: December 6, 2023
  • Result Notification: March 4, 2024

Take Note of this

MEXT will stop the provision of scholarship benefits to students following situations like;

  • The applicant made a false statement on their application
  • The applicant violated a Japanese law and goes to prison for and indefinite period or a period exceeding one year
  • The applicant violates an article of the pledge to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  • The applicant arrives in Japan without acquiring the new “Student” Status
  • Applicant receives another scholarship
  • The applicant withdraws from Tokyo Tech or moves to another University
  • The applicant proceeds to a more advanced level of education without receiving approval for the extension of the period of the Scholarship
  • (Priority Scheme Only) The applicant failed to attain a grade point average of 2.30 or above each year
  • The applicant receives disciplinary punishment from Tokyo Tech

The initial scholarship program is 2 years from the masters program. Those who will like to integrate to PhD programs will apply for scholarship extension. This is only possible when they are proceeding to PhD programs. And also provided they have a grade point average of 2.50 or above.
