NOTE:
Interns are welcomed all year round, but most interns prefer the summer period. No German knowledge is required as all participating institutions uses English as their main language of study. If you are selected as an intern, you are going to work with a research group at one of the participating institutes, and then, a faculty mentor will be assigned to work with you directly.

Visa Support and Required Documents
If you have been selected for the internship, a study visa will be required to study in Germany. You will be provided with the necessary documents by Max Planck Institute to obtain a visa.
Note that, applying for your visa on time through a local German consulate depends on you. If the embassy or consulate asks for visa fees, contact the Max Planck Institute and inform them about the visa cost and they will pay.

- For internships starting between May and August, apply by November 1 of the previous year
