The Tokyo ADB Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ADB Scholarship at the University of Tokyo, scholars must meet the eligibility criteria
- Applicant must be a national of an ADB Member Country
- Have at least two years of full-time professional working experience
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with an excellent academic record
- Must be nominated by the University of Tokyo
- Must not be above the age of 35 years old at the time of the application
- Applicants must agree to return to their home countries after completing their degree program

Steps to Apply for the University of Tokyo ADB Scholarship 2025
- Step 1: Verify if you are eligible by checking the eligibility criteria set out by the ADB-JSP https://www.adb.org/work-with-us/careers/japan-scholarship-program
- Step 2: Search and contact faculty members you wished to be supervised https://www.k.u-tokyo.ac.jp/en/gsfs/faculty/
- Step 3: Make sure to upload application materials to the correct URL before the application deadline
- Step 4: Successful candidates only will be asked to submit documents for the ADB Scholarship Application. These documents will be submitted by mid-February
- Step 5: The ADB-JSP will notify the university about the selection result by mid-May
- Step 6: Immigration and Admission procedures to be completed from May to September
- Step 7: Enter Japan with a student visa by late September
