The UK Chevening Scholarship 2025/2026 is a fully funded masters scholarship program for outstanding international students and emerging leaders all around the world. This is a one-year fully funded master’s degree for scholars who have the passion, zeal, ideas, and influence to provide solutions and leadership needed to create a better future. This scholarship program covers Tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, economy class return ticket from the UK, other additional grants and allowances to cover essential expenditures.
Chevening provides international students and future leaders all around the world the opportunity to achieve their professional and academic goals, maximizing a lifetime experience in the UK. Scholars will live and study in the UK for one year, whereby, they will develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience the UK culture, and build memorable and lasting relationships with the UK.
After completion of their studies in the UK, scholars will have to depart the country, equipped with the knowledge and knowhow necessary to bring their own ideas into existence. This program is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), including partner organizations. There are two kinds of awards available in Chevening: Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships. All candidates are encouraged to apply if you meet the eligibility criteria and other requirements. Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible to apply for the UK Chevening Scholarship 2025/2026, candidates must:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, region or territory
- Agree to return to your home country for a duration of at least two years after your scholarship has ended
- Have at least two years i.e. 2800 hours of work experience
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK master’s program at the time of the application. It is equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK. This might be different based on your chosen field of study and your university.
- Apply to 3 different and eligible UK University Courses. Applicants must have received an unconditional offer from at least one of these course choices by the references and education documents deadline listed on the application timeline.
Non eligibility criteria
You are not eligible to apply for the UK Chevening Scholarship 2025/2026 if you:
- Hold a British or dual British citizenship. Exceptions apply if you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hongkong
- Hold a refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country. If you are a citizen of a Chevening eligible country and you hold a refugee status in a Chevening eligible country, you are eligible to apply for the scholarship
- Have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK government-funded scholarship program
- Employees, former employees, or relatives of an employee of Chevening Partner Organizations are eligible to apply. But if the employment took place within the last two years at the time of the application, you cannot receive a Chevening Partner from the organization from which you work, previously worked, or are affiliated with through relatives.
- An employee, former employee, or relative of an employee of His Majesty’s government, or have been within the last two years from the time of the application (this includes British embassies/high commissions; the Department of Business; Energy and Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office), or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
