The University of Southern Denmark awards a range of scholarships through the Danish Government Scholarship program to well qualified applicants as a means to recognize the important investments that overseas students make during their education.
The Danish Government Scholarship 2025 grants students either a partial or full tuition fee waivers and grants. A partial tuition fee waiver covers the tuition fee for a period of one year (second and fourth semester). The applicant is responsible for paying the tuition fee for the first and third semesters. Be aware that the fee waivers cover only 30 ECTS per semester. If the applicant’s number of courses is more than 30 ECTS, they are not covered by the waiver.
Scholarship Coverage
The Danish Government Scholarship 2025 is awarded to highly qualified applicants based on their Bachelor’s degree GPA and their online interview performance with key persons from the Master’s program. The Scholarship provides applicants with the below benefits:
- It is provided in two parts: a full tuition fee waiver and a grant to help cover living expenses which amounts to DKK 6090 per month before taxes.

Eligibility Criteria for the Danish Government Scholarship 2025
Candidates applying for the Danish Government Scholarship 2025 must fulfill the below requirements:
- Required Language: English
- You must have English skills compared to the Danish B level English if you want to study English Courses. Exchange students can document it by way of our language requirement form or by way of their secondary school leaving certificate (minimum 210 hours at high school level) or an IELTS score of min 6.5 or TOEFL of min 575/230/88.
- Eligible Countries: All Countries in the world
- The scholarship is open to applicants who are from non-EU/EEA Countries and who are eligible to pay tuition fees
- As an exchange or guest student, you can only follow courses at the masters level if you have completed what compares to 180 ECTS credits (i.e. 3 years of studies) of relevant courses at the university level. Check all the General entry requirements for all exchange and guest students.
Application Process
In order to apply for the Danish Government Scholarship 2025, the below processes must be followed accordingly:
- Application deposit receipt
- Official Bachelor’s transcripts and diplomas in English, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian – must include grades and ECTS/units/credits for each course
- Course descriptions for the courses on your transcripts
- Proof of English language proficiency
- Applicants must upload all required documents to the online application portal. No documents will be accepted by email
- Applicants need to be admitted to the university. All applicants who have been granted admission will be automatically considered for the scholarship as there is no separate application needed for the scholarship.
